Partner

Edward R. Culhane is a deal lawyer with hands-on experience running and managing businesses.

Ed’s clients are venture capital funds, private equity funds, family offices and angel investors. He helps his clients raise and deploy capital in early-stage and emerging growth companies. He also represents entrepreneurs raising capital, and helps them structure and position their business for funding, growth and a successful exit.

While experienced in many different industries, Ed primarily focuses on transactions in the state-legal marijuana, cannabis, industrial hemp, CBD, specialty food, software and high-tech industries.

Ed frequently acts as general counsel for his clients and their portfolio companies — working with leadership, sales, operations, accounting, HR and other team members to get the job done.

After law school, Ed clerked for the Hon. Donald P. Lay of the 8th Circuit United States Court of Appeals in St. Paul, Minnesota. Ed proudly served as an enlisted infantryman in the United States Army Reserve and was selected as the United States Army Reserve Soldier of the Year in 1990.
